News: Obama gives $1.4M Nobel winnings to 10 charities
How very....noble....of him. And, yes, I hate myself for saying that.
News: Nurse fired 4 NOT providing sexual services to disabled man
The nurses' union is fighting back. The disabled man, who apparently is not alone in this, feels that sexual services should be part of their standard care. This particular man has has such services provided for in the past. When the nurse in question refused, he dismissed her as being unfit to provide care. Except that this is about the Dutch, it would seem surprising.
News: Mississippi school cancels prom when lesbians ask to attend
She asks for her and her girlfriend to be able to attend, and that she be allowed to wear a tuxedo. So the school cancels the prom.
Understanding that they can't just prohibit her and her girlfriend to attend because it would be discrimination...they school opts to cancel the entire prom rather than allow them to go. Wow....just wow.
Keep in mind, now, that while a girl kissing another girl is enough to get the entire event cancelled....straight girls can go wearing little more than strippers (mid-act!) and still attend...and grind on the dance floor...and so forth. Really....really? What the hell is the world coming to? She just wants to go to her prom and is willing to wear MORE clothes....come on now, Mississippi. We all know you are a third world county of a state, but cripes.
News: Minneapolis schools locked down after vague threat

News: Sony debuts Wiimote like controller, the Move
Not sure how you can trademark the work 'move' but fine. Clearly a ripoff of the Wii controller scheme, but fine...whatever.

News: Cisco introduces CRS-3 router, fastest router by 12x
It can deliver every movie ever made in under 4 minutes. I tend to think that's a bit exaggerated. I mean....Graham's favorite genre ALONE might take that long. Maybe they mean mainstream movies....
News: Phantom of the Opera sequel opens in London
There's a sequel? Really? I realize that it is 'one of the biggest musicals of all time,' but does it really need a sequel?
