Oh...my. HD graphics (which can be turned OFF to use on-board graphics and save battery by flipping a switch) and a 6.5 hour battery life (with the graphics card off; 2-hour battery life with it on). This is sick. And it's under $1000. That's pretty much a deal.

No...I haven't verified. But my anecdotal evidence seems to point to yes.
Sports: The Big Unit retires after 22 seasons, 303 victories
And the best pitching performance I've ever seen. In June 1997, I was in Seattle visiting my maternal grandparents. We went to the Mariners-Cardinals game to see the Big Unit versus Big Mac (Randy Johnson, the best pitcher of the time, versus, Mark Maguire, the best hitter of the time chasing Roger Maris' home run record. Randy Johnson was well on his was to 19 strikeouts. 19!!! That's ridiculous. But during the same game, Mark McGuire hit a 537 foot homerun off of the left field STADIUM WALL just above and to the left of my head (by around 30 feet). It was nuts. The best baseball game I've ever seen. 19 strikeouts and you LOSE? Ridiculous.

No contract. No carrier. If you want. It's something like $499...which isn't bad considering the price of the original iPhone at launch. Can be bought at AT&T, believe it or not, for $199 with contract.
