Report: NFL games have about 11 minutes of true action per game

A typical broadcast is nearly 3 hours. 11 minutes of action, what else is going on? Well, over an hour of commercials helps. 67 minutes of players just standing around and preparing for the snap, and 17 minutes of replays. That's what.

Oh...and before you get all feminista on me...no, cheerleaders are not a big part of the telecase. In fact, half the games studied didn't show cheerleaders at all. Not once. The rest....averaged 3 seconds on camera. Usually as they go to commercial on time. So calm down.

It really is wait, wait, wait, 4 second play, wait, wait, wait, 4 second play. That sort of thing.

Rumor: Leno back on Tonight; Conan paid, NO non-compete clause

Conan gets a big fatty check and gets to appear on any other network without restrictions. Leno will take back the tonight show.

I'm not sure what kind of money would be worth taking the disrespect of having Leno need to take the Tonight Show back, but I'm guess it was a big ole number. Minus some for the non-compete clause being missing from said deal.

But please...Conan....stay off Fox.

News: White House backing Google in China dispute

Didn't...quite...see...that coming. Is it because they can't force a change and couldn't convince them to change? Rather look like they are backing Google than couldn't get them to change?

News: O'Brien to Fox if Leno back to late-night

The cancellation of Leno's prime-time show leads to some interesting questions. The current word from NBC is that Leno will get a new, half-hour late-night show at 11:35. Tonight Show with O'Brien will then move a half-hour back to 12:05 and last it's typical hour. Then Jimmy Fallon's Late-Night will also move back half an hour. But probably, O'Brien will bolt to Fox and Leno will get the Tonight Show back.
